Are you ready for the new contest series? Well it is time. We have some good sponsors for this event already and still in the process of gathering even more stuff.

We have some new ideas for this series, so hopefully it will be a little bit of a change from the series you have skated in the past.

For those of you that have not skated these before, let me explain. All you have to do to be eligible for prizes is SHOW UP. It doesn't matter if you win or not. As long as you skate in 7 out of the eight weeks, you will be guaranteed to walk away with something. Try finding that offer somewhere else. And remember - only $5 to enter.

I know that there is a bunch of you inliners that have been waiting for this for a long time, but it's finally here.

Progressive Skatepark will be hosting The Roll Jam Official AIL Qualifier on September 20th.

Registration forms are available upon arrival. You must have a parent present if you are 17 years of age and younger. If a parent is unable to attend, you MUST download registration form and have it notarized.

All competitors will wear an official AIL wrist band. NO ONE besides registered competitors may be skating during event.

Upon Registering, every competitor receives an AIL t-shirt (this year designed by legendary, Arlo Eisenberg)!

Prize details coming soon (I do know there will be cash).

Lewis from 99X is at it again.

You may remember his challenge with Rob Dyrdek...butter-balls, syrup bombs...it was an instant classic.

Well now it is time for a new challenge. Lewis has put the word out that he wants Travis Pastrana and the whole Nitro Circus crew to be part of his next stunt. The exact details are still a secret, but we can give you the preview.

Skaters Saving Second Base 2009 is a wrap

The journey we started back in May has finally come full circle.

They dealt with the miserable rain. They endured the 2100 snoring people at night. They showered in the back of tractor trailers. ..All in the name of searching for a cure for breast cancer. Angie Yarbrough, Alesia Register, Laura Campbell, and Jamie DeLuca all completed the 3-day, 60-mile journey on October 25., 2009.

Part of our crew traveled down to Hazard for the DC King of Series Contest. This was a tough event because you got the chance to go to Chicago for the finals. All of our guys threw down so big tricks.

Solomon finished 3rd.

Fletcher finished 4th.

Josh finished 5th.

HERE are a few highlights.

TNT hosted the Heat Stroke Jam. Joey went, and Joey won. That is right - up against some of the biggest names in Georgia, and Joey took it. Big congrats to Joey. This was a big win for him. And I am sure all the guys at Given Skateboards, Grind King, Globe, Fuel Clothing, Ninja Bearings, Darkstar wheels were happy to hear about this, too.

Get this - David flew all the way to HOLLAND for the Mind the Gap 2009 Inline Competition. An in typical David fashion, he won. But this is no small contest. In fact, he was the only person from the United States to even place in the top 5.

This trophy is easily one of the coolest of any I have ever seen. It is huge. Any the check - well that is 555 Euros. That comes out to about $700. Not bad, huh?

6th Avenue Skatepark of Nashville, TN hosted the Cornucopia of Gnarlitude Skateboard Contest on October 17. We sent out our guys in full force, and we definitely made our impression.

In beginner, Shanewreck took first, and Rob Stone took second.

In intermediate, Steven Reynolds took second, and Harlan Smith took third. And as a side note - from what I understand - Lachlan and Jack Stone, who were both bumped from beginner to intermediate, each made it to the finals. Pretty impressive given their age.

In advanced, Solomon took first, and Joey Pellegrino took second.

Shane and his dad made the voyage to 3rd Lair for the KOTG Qualifiers (even though we will host one in January).

You can tell from the huge pile of prizes that he represented us well.

Shanewreck qualifies for King of the Grom at 3rd Lair in Minneapolis

He got a Golden Ticket to go back and skate the Finals in February for each event that he skated.  On Friday, he skated mini ramp and took 4th overall to advance to the finals.  Saturday was Bowl and Street. He took 1st in Bowl and 1st in his heat in Street and advanced to the finals in both. Sunday was the finals and after a long weekend of skating, he finished 10th in mini ramp, 5th in Bowl and 3rd in Street.

Hazard County Skatepark had a Halloween Skate contest. Progressive was well represented...Shane, Lachlan, Jack, Caleb and Brandon and Johanna Kessler showed up.

Brandon, Johanna, Jack and Caleb kicked off the Beginner group, but Jack and Caleb got bumped up to Intermediate. Joanna wound up getting an honorable mention in the Beginner group.

Shane, Lach, Jack and Caleb then skated Intermediate.  Everyone skated and represented Progressive very well.   In typical Shanewreck fashion, he pulled out all tricks and ended his last run with a huge kickflip over the 3 block stair set!   Shanewreck took 2nd place Intermediate. Caleb took 3rd place and did a pop shuv over the stair set.

Niko was invited to the Dew Tour for the Vert Grom demo in Orlando.  He got the invite after skating the stop in Salt Lake City and being named one of the top five grom vert skaters in the country. He got to hang out with Bucky Lasek, Bob Burnquist, Adam Taylor in the pro athlete lounge. He was even playing ping pong with Chaz Ortiz.

Niko also did a few Morning news shows on local fox outlet's. It was a great honor and hopefully he will have the opportunity to be a part of it again next year. This was his second year being a part of the Dew Tour.

We had our annual Thanksgiving night team session. It really is amazing how the caliber of skating increases from year to year. I remember when we first opened, being able to boardslide a handrail meant that you were better than just about anyone else around. Now, 8 year old kids are doing it - and a whole lot more, too.

I think the trick of the night that I saw was Cory doing a back tail big spin on the new flat rail. But that was just one of many bangers.

Be sure to check out the video.

Shanewreck skated in Intermediate and Niko skated in Advanced.  It was a jam format and both advanced to the finals.  The final jam was 8 minutes and Shanewreck took 1st place in Intermediate and Niko took 3rd place in Advanced.

Here are a couple of pictures from Woodward's Black Friday Contest.

Anybody who is anybody knows Tampa Am wrapped up on December 6th. We sent Joey, Solomon, and Fletcher down there.

SPOT's photographer got a nollie big spin back tail to fakie of Fletcher. You can check this out HERE. A filmer from Thrasher got the same trick on film, too. Check it out HERE.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to send anyone to the finals, but from what

i understand, our guys did throw out some pretty good runs. What is for sure, though, is they have all successfully made a name for themselves. All we can hope is we can send everybody down next year nice and healthy.

?NEW SERIES STARTS NOVEMBER 10?-

It is time for the new series to get going. As you know, the last series included a bunch of cool prizes including hand-painted decks by Kris Markovich and even being featured in a full page ad in ForTheKrew Magazine.

Well, this series will include a prize that will even top that. But for now, that prize will stay a secret. So, for you, that means you need to show up.

As usual, if you show up for the competition at least 7 of the 8 weeks, you are GUARANTEED prizes.

More details to come...

FINAL STANDINGS

All the new ramps are done. We have new handrails, flatrails, quarterpipes, hips, ledges (including concrete ledges), and more.

Additionally, we changed up the podium by taking off the top stair, redid the hubba, and put a wallride extension next to the big quarterpipe.
